Ron is the only Mastersmith to have won every single knife award the American Blade Smith Society offers. These awards include the George Peck Memorial Award for best new Journeyman Smith. The B.R. Hughes Awards for the Best New Mastersmith. The Journeyman Smith Antique Bowie Award. The Mastersmith Antique Bowie Award, and the W.F. Morgan Knife of the Year Award.. These comprised awards are referred to as the “Grand Slam” of A.B.S. Knife Awards. Other awards Ron’s knives have won are Best Fixed Blade, Best Folder, Best Hunter, Best Bowie, Best Art Knife, Best Camp Knife, Most Innovative, Best Miniature, Judges Award, and Best of Show. These awards have been won on numerous occasions at knife shows across the nation.
